Quota movement: UN finds evidence of human rights violations

The United Nations is monitoring the situation arising out of the quota reform movement in Bangladesh. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has received evidence of excessive force and human rights abuses by security guards against protesting students.
In view of this, he expressed deep concern. In addition, the United Nations is ready to take action in any situation.
On Monday (July 29), the spokesperson of the Secretary General Stephen Dujarric said these things in a briefing.
First he read a statement on Bangladesh issue. Then he gave questions and answers. In the opening statement, he reiterated prompt, transparent and impartial investigations into all forms of violence and called for accountability of those responsible.
