The counting of money from 11 donation boxes of the Pagla Mosque in Kishoreganj continues. After four hours of counting, 6 crore taka was found. Currently, the counting of small bills is going on. It will be evening when the counting is completed.
In the afternoon, the administrative officer of the Pagla Mosque, Shawkat Uddin Bhuiyan, said that in the presence of the administration officer and the commander of the Kishoreganj Army Camp, Lieutenant Colonel Riazul Karim, the bundles of 6 crore taka of 1 thousand and 500 taka notes were filled in bags and sent to the local Rupali Bank by the law enforcement agencies. The rest of the counting may take until evening. This time, the amount of money is expected to exceed all past records due to the large number of donation boxes and money bags.

Earlier, at around 7:30 am, 11 donation boxes of Pagla Mosque in Kishoreganj were opened and 29 sacks of taka, a huge amount of gold ornaments and foreign currency were found. The counting of this money started at around 8 am.
The iron donation boxes in this historic mosque on the banks of the Narsunda River in the district town are opened every three to four months. After the previous 9 boxes, two more boxes have been added this time. Last August 17, 9 donation boxes were opened. At that time, 28 bags contained 72.2 million 13 thousand 46 taka, including foreign currency, gold ornaments and diamonds.
In the presence of the responsible officials of the administration, about 250 students of Al Jamiatul Imdadia and Pagla Mosque orphanage in Kishoreganj, 70 bank officials and employees, mosque committee and members of law enforcement agencies are doing this counting work.

Deputy Commissioner and Mosque Committee President Fauzia Khan said, “The remaining money from the donation is deposited in the bank to cover the expenses of the Pagla Mosque and Islamic Complex. From this, donations are made to various mosques, madrasas and orphanages in the district, as well as helping the helpless and those suffering from complex diseases.”
Pagla Mosque is one of the historical structures of Kishoreganj city. The mosque is located on the banks of the Narsunda River in the Harua area to the west of the city.
