A student of Islami University (EB) was beaten for allegedly questioning the July movement. The incident took place in the TV room of Lalon Shah Hall of the university on Sunday (September) at 12:30 in the afternoon.

The student who was beaten up is Ahsan Ullah Ali of 18-19 years of public administration department. He is a resident student of room 232 of Lalon Shah Hall.

It is known that the administration decided to stop the common room practice on Sunday. Oli discussed this with the students of Lalon Shah Hall at 10 pm. Hasanul Banna appeared there. At one point in the discussion, Oli made a negative comment on behalf of the students in the common room and the movement. The common students were angry with him. The students got angry and kicked him out of the hall. There was a tense situation in the university's Lalon Shah Hall till 1 o'clock last night.

The angry students alleged that Oli was an activist of Chhatra League. He is staying in the hall as he is active in the movement. But since the movement, various misleading information about the coordinators has been creating discord and chaos among the students.

Ahsan Ullah Ali, the victim, said that we all the students of the hall sat in discussion in view of the notification of the hall administration. There I asked to be seated from the common room instead of outside. Instead of allocating seats in the hall through a specific person, ask to be picked up from those who will be in the common room. But I came to know that some students were brought to Banna Hall from outside instead of from the common room of the hall. When I questioned them, they got angry. I got a little angry and said that Banna himself used to sing the BLA's safai. How does he give seats now? They did not protest against me, they accused me that I was with Chhatra League. Meanwhile, they kept me locked in the TV room and harassed me. Later I was rushed from the star hall. Bricks crack and beat. I want a fair trial.'

Hasanul Banna said, when all the students of the hall sat in discussion, the anti-discrimination movement called Oli took place from August 2 to 5. Besides, there was no other movement ever. He was with this movement from the beginning. At that time, some other students who once belonged to the Chhatra League supported him. Hearing this, the students who protested even during the curfew became angry. Later he understood the situation and ran away.'
