Home Affairs and Agriculture Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that Bangladesh will provide all kinds of cooperation to the United Nations in the investigation of the massacre of students.
He said that they have come to investigate what actually happened in the last 2 months to suppress the uprising of the students, initially there was a very good discussion.
He said these things while talking to reporters at the secretariat on Tuesday (August 27). Earlier, he met with the UN Human Rights delegation.
The adviser said, we have a delegation from the United Nations Human Rights Commission here. They just came here to pay us a courtesy visit. We have assured them that we will provide them with whatever help they need. I have requested them to give more opportunities to the members of the army, police and other forces from Bangladesh in the UN peacekeeping mission. They highly appreciated the soldiers of Bangladesh in the peacekeeping mission.
He also said that the ambassador of China also came a while ago. There are about nine thousand Chinese in Bangladesh. The ambassador asked us about their safety. We have said, we will certainly do whatever help we need. We have asked for all the necessary assistance to the flood victims.
