It has been raining continuously for several days in Benapole of Jessore. Due to rain in various places, the supply of vegetables has reduced in Benapole market. As a result, a slight upward trend has been observed in prices. Except for one or two vegetables, the prices of almost all vegetables have increased by Tk 20-40 per kg.

Today, Saturday 28 September, Benapole Big Bazaar, walking around and talking to buyers and sellers was found. On the other hand, the price of new seasonal vegetables in the market is also very high.
The big bazaar has been seen, the seller is sitting arranging the vegetable stalks. Raw market full of different kinds of vegetables. Some products also saw price revisions compared to last week. Prices of most vegetables in the market are on the rise. As the prices of vegetables are relatively high, there has been a mixed reaction among the buyers.

It has been seen from the market that beans are being sold at the rate of Tk 280 per kg. Apart from this, green chillies are Tk 280 per kg, sweet pumpkin Tk 60, kachurmukhi Tk 60, amra Tk 50, puishak Tk 35, banana Tk 60, potal Tk 60, Uste Tk 100 to Tk 120, onion Tk 110-115, garlic Tk 220 to Tk 240, Dry pepper 450 to 500 taka, potato 50-55 taka, gourd 60 taka (peach), brinjal 150 taka, radish 70 taka, tomato 130 taka, carrot 170 taka, cucumber 50 taka, red vegetables 25 taka (flour), vegetables 40 taka (flour), mechri 100 taka, kushi 70 taka, capsicum is being sold at 350 to 650 taka per kg. Meanwhile, eggs are selling at Tk 60, beef at Tk 700 per kg, goat meat at Tk 1,500 to Tk 11,500, chicken meat at Tk 270 to Tk 380 per kg depending on the breed.

Hazrat Ali, a seller of raw materials in the big market, said that the price of eggplant has doubled in a span of two days. Prices of many vegetables have increased. The import of vegetables in Mokam is low. Vegetable fields are getting destroyed due to monsoons, floods. If the supply of raw material is low, the price increases. Because of the rain, now wholesale less goods have to be bought and sold.

A buyer named Tamim Sabuj said that the price of some vegetables has increased a lot in two/three days. The price of some raw vegetables including brinjal, bean curd is extra. When a new curry comes out, its price is not affordable for everyone.
