The behavior of Shah Rukh that once led Gauri Khan to consider ending their relationship

Bollywood’s popular couple, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, have spent 35 years together. However, their relationship faced a major crisis before they were married. At one point, Gauri decided to end the relationship due to Shah Rukh’s excessive possessiveness and his attempts to impose restrictions on her personal choices.
Years ago, on the show *Rendezvous with Simi Garewal*, Shah Rukh opened up about the early days of their romance. He admitted that he was overly possessive of Gauri at the time—going so far as to dictate what she should wear or how she should style her hair. He even objected to her wearing her hair open or dressing in white shirts.
Gauri could not accept this behavior. In the same interview, she shared that his controlling attitude felt deeply uncomfortable and unacceptable to her. At one stage, she even decided to walk away from the relationship, telling Shah Rukh that she would no longer see him.
Fortunately, this crisis did not lead to a permanent breakup. Faced with Gauri’s firm stance, Shah Rukh realized his mistake, and their relationship eventually returned to normal. The two first met at a friend’s party in Delhi in 1984 and fell in love. After a long relationship, they married on October 25, 1991. Today, they are parents to three children—Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam.
