Two grand mega concerts in the capital to mark the anniversary of the July Uprising

Two grand open-air mega concerts are going to be held in the capital Dhaka on August 5 to mark the second anniversary of the historic July Uprising. The two music events will be organized at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan and Manik Mia Avenue as a joint and separate initiative of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Bangladesh Musical Bands Association (BAMBA) and Monsoon Cultural Alliance.

The 'Concert for Democracy' will be held at Suhrawardy Udyan from 3 pm to 9 pm. This concert is being organized under the initiative of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, under the supervision of the Shilpakala Academy and with the support of Bamba. The entrance to this concert, which is completely free and open to everyone, will open at 1 pm. Seven popular bands of the country - Miles, Warphase, Different Touch, Lalon, Highway, Essays and Ray Ray - will grace the stage. A special award ceremony has also been organized there.

Recalling the practice of culture and democratic values, Bamba President Hamin Ahmed and Shilpakala Academy Director General Rezauddin Stalin said that music and culture were a great force in the July mass movement. Strict measures have been taken to organize this concert and ensure the safety of the audience to keep that memory alive and celebrate it anew.

On the other hand, another open-air concert titled 'Songs of the Rain Revolution' will start at 4 pm at the South Plaza of the Parliament Building on Manik Mia Avenue. Several popular bands and musicians of the country including Artcell, Titleless, Arc, Avoid Rafa, Kureghar, Asif Akbar, Sezan, Parsha Mahzabin will perform in this completely open concert organized by the Monsoon Cultural Alliance.
