One after another controversies before the release, repeated changes in the release date and big budget arrangements - all this has attracted the attention of the audience. The new movie ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown Ups’ starring South Indian superstar Yash is at the center of the audience's interest. The makers claim that it is not only an Indian film but also an ambitious project aimed at the international market.
The film is directed by National Award-winning director Geetu Mohandas. The movie is being considered as Yash's biggest project after the success of the ‘KGF’ series. Popular stars like Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasant and Tara Sutaria have acted in it along with Yash.
The makers said that the movie has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English. Later, it will be released in several Indian languages including Bengali, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and also in the international market. As a result, a large-scale plan has been made for the movie from the beginning.
However, the film's journey was not smooth at all. Initially, the release date was announced on April 10, 2025, but the plan was canceled as the shooting and production work were not completed on time. Later, a new date was set for March 19, 2026. But the film did not release there either.
Later, the release date was changed again and set for June 4, 2026. The makers cited international release plans and various technical preparations as one of the reasons for this. Some reports in the Indian media claimed that a decision was made to work anew between the makers and the production team on some parts of the post-production. Although no official details were given in this regard.
Meanwhile, a new controversy started after the release of the film's teaser. There was widespread discussion on social media about some scenes surrounding Yash in the teaser. A section of critics objected to the presentation of these scenes. The matter later reached the Karnataka State Women's Commission and official complaints were also filed in this regard, according to Indian media reports.
Despite the controversy surrounding the teaser, the audience's interest did not wane. On the contrary, the discussion about the film has increased on social media. According to many, ‘Toxic’ is creating an opportunity to see Yash in a new role after ‘KGF’.
All in all, ‘Toxic’ is now one of the most talked about films of the year due to the controversy, star-studded cast and big budget. As the release date approaches, the curiosity of the audience is increasing—it remains to be seen how successful the film is at the box office.
