OTT platform Charki has announced that it will give a special honor to late content creator and actress Kareena Kaiser at the upcoming 'Charki Carnival' organized on the occasion of their five-year anniversary. This decision has been taken in memory of this popular artist, which is expected to create an emotional moment at this year's event.
Charki has informed that this special event will be held on July 3. The best works from various contents published on the platform in 2023 and 2024 will be awarded there. However, it has been decided to keep the name of the late Kareena out of the competition this time and honor her separately.
Charki Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Redwan Rony said that Kareena's work and contribution have made a place in the minds of the audience. She is no longer a part of the competition, but her memory and contribution hold her in special status. Therefore, an initiative has been taken to honor her specially.
According to the organization, she was nominated in the Best Actress (Female) category for the web film '36-24-36' in the 2024 Subscribers' Choice category. However, due to her sudden death, it was decided to drop her from the competition and remember her with respect.
Several popular web films and series have been nominated as the best content in this year's Charki Awards. Viewers can select their favorite content and artists through online voting.
Charki authorities said that this honor is not just an award, but a formal tribute to Kareena's work and memory.
