Anant Jalil and wife Afia Nusrat Barsha bid farewell to cinema

Actor, producer and entrepreneur Anant Jalil and his wife, popular actress Afia Nusrat Barsha, have decided to step away from films for the time being. Although they have been associated with cinema for a long time, they have decided to focus entirely on business instead of working in films due to the current business pressure and financial crisis.
In addition to acting, Anant Jalil is known as an established garment businessman. However, his business has recently faced serious challenges. Where thousands of workers once worked, the number of employees has now decreased to almost one-third of what it used to be. In this situation, it has become difficult to manage cinema and business together, so he announced a break from cinema.
In a recent speech, Anant Jalil said that although he loves cinema, it has never been his main profession. “I am basically a businessman. If business is not good, focusing on cinema can create a bigger crisis in the future. Whenever there is a problem in life, I give the utmost importance to it—that is my nature,” he said.
He also said that he has no plans to return to films until the business stabilizes. Ananta Jalil said, “When the time is right, I will do films, otherwise I will not.” This statement clearly indicates that the possibility of their return to the silver screen is uncertain for now.
Since their debut on the big screen a decade and a half ago, Ananta Jalil has acted in almost all his films in pairs with his wife Barsha. In this regard, he said, “When I do films, we both do them together. And if I don’t, neither of us will. Films are not our profession, we did it as a hobby.”
Currently, the shooting of these two films, ‘Netri The Leader’ and ‘Operation Jackpot’ starring Ananta Jalil and Barsha, has not been completely completed. As a result, uncertainty has also arisen about the future of these films. This decision has been both surprising and disappointing for movie lovers.
