Bollywood star Salman Khan has been at the centre of controversy for the past few days over his personal life and religious sensitivities. The issue started when he attended Ganesh Puja, despite being a follower of a different religion. This move has angered some Muslim fans. However, a new controversy has arisen over Salman's decision not to eat beef. He recently said that he sees cows as his mother, so he does not eat beef.
In 2018, while participating in the popular show Aap Ki Adalat, Salman had said that he eats everything except two types of food - beef and pork. Salman said, "I eat everything. But I never eat beef and pork."
Explaining the reason for not eating beef, Bhaijaan said, "Cow is our mother. I see cows as my mother because my own mother is also a Hindu. My father is a Muslim, and my second mother, Helen, is a Christian. I respect the entire country of India."
Salman's father, screenwriter Salim Khan, also expressed the same opinion. Recently, during Ganesh Puja, he told the Indian media, "We have never eaten beef since Indore. Many people eat it because it is very cheap, while some buy it to feed their pets."
Salman was last seen in the film Sikander, opposite Rashmika Mandanna. The film also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Suniel Shetty, Sharman Joshi and Prateik Babbar. The film is directed by AR Murugadoss.
