One of the most talked about Hindi films of the year, 'Sayaaraa', has left the theatres after seven weeks of its release. The film, starring newcomers Ahan Pandey and Aneet Padda, has taken the box office by storm and broken several records.
The film has earned Rs 329.25 crore in the Indian market after 48 days of its run, making it the 14th highest-grossing Hindi film in the country. 'Sayaaraa' has surpassed Salman Khan's 'Sultan' (Rs 300 crore), Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmaavat' (Rs 302 crore) and Kartik Aaryan's 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' (Rs 260 crore). It has also left behind films like Shah Rukh Khan's 'Donkey' (Rs 455 crore), Salman's 'Tiger Zinda Hai' (Rs 558 crore) and Ranbir Kapoor's 'Brahmastra' (Rs 431 crore).
Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by YRF CEO Akshay Bidhani, the film revolves around the love story of a temperamental singer (Ahan) and a lyricist (Aneet). It also stars Rajesh Kumar, Varun Badola, Shad Randhawa, Geeta Agarwal Sharma, Alam Khan and Shaan Grover. The film has received critical acclaim from both the audience and critics.
‘Sayaraa’ has also achieved significant success in the international market. Despite not having a superstar, the film has grossed $19.5 million, taking its worldwide total to Rs 570 crore. This huge figure has made ‘Sayaraa’ the second highest-grossing Indian film of the year.
