Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra recently posted a post on social media in support of Iran. In the context of the ongoing tension in the Middle East, her position created a storm of discussion online. But the matter did not stop there. Immediately after the actress's post, she faced heavy criticism, and even aggressive comments and threats against her started spreading on various platforms.
In particular, some extremist groups and war-mongering individuals began to criticize her post in harsh terms, calling it "anti-state". Some even demanded that she be banned from Bollywood. In addition, some of Parineeti's brand sponsorships and advertising deals are also being questioned.
Actress Parineeti Chopra said in her Instagram post, "Humanity is in pain today. We should speak out against any bloodshed and war. I feel the pain of the ordinary people of Iran, on whom cruelty and political games are being imposed."
Since this statement, a section of netizens has praised her, while another section, especially the war supporters, is calling it a question of national security. Many say that an actress should not have taken such a clear political stand.
After the incident, Parineeti has withdrawn herself a bit for now. She has not yet given any direct comment to the media, but according to close sources, she is under a lot of stress over the matter and is also preparing to seek legal help.
Her fans and well-wishers on social media are calling for standing by the actress, and for respecting the right to 'Freedom of Speech'.
