Entertainment stars participating in politics is nothing new. Before the elections, almost everyone is looking forward to which new star or artist will contest the elections.
Now, various speculations have started about the involvement of actress Rituparna Sengupta in Indian politics. So is this actress joining politics? Amidst such various questions and discussions, the actress spoke openly about the matter.
According to Indian media reports, actress Rachana contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from the Hooghly parliamentary constituency. BJP's Locket Chatterjee was the candidate against her. Rachana, a newcomer to politics, won by defeating her rival leader Locket in the elections. Again, the assembly elections in this state are next year.
Rituparna was asked about entering politics in view of the assembly elections there. The actress said, "I don't understand anything about politics. I am far from politics. I am an artist, so I want to remain an artist."
Journalists asked her, "If the Chief Minister makes an offer, will you enter politics?" The actress replied, "Then I will tell the Chief Minister that."
