Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who was injured in a knife attack, was undergoing treatment at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital. He was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday afternoon after five days of treatment. Doctors said that Saif is now physically healthy, but will have to rest for a few days after the surgery.
An assailant attempted to rob Saif's luxurious flat in Bandra last Thursday night. Saif was stabbed when he tried to stop him. Later, at around 2:30 am, his sons rushed the injured Saif to the hospital in an auto.
A 3-inch long piece of the knife was removed from his spine through emergency surgery at the hospital. In addition, the spinal fluid leak was stopped. The hospital has also released a picture of the sharp object recovered during the surgery.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested the accused Shariful Islam Shehzad on suspicion of being involved in the attack. The accused was taken to the spot for police investigation and the entire incident was reconstructed.
