There were many discussions about the Shakib Khan-starrer movie 'Dard' from the beginning. Producer Anon Mamun initially announced that the movie would be released simultaneously in India in five languages, including Bangladesh. But in reality, that plan was not implemented.
Although it was released in Bangladesh on November 15, 2022, 'Dard' has not yet been released in India. However, the movie has been released in about 20 countries, including the United States, Thailand, and Canada. Now it has been learned that 'Dard' will be seen on the OTT platform before its release in India.
The OTT platform called iScreen shared the poster of the movie on its Facebook page and said that 'Dard' starring Shakib Khan and Sonal Chauhan is coming to their platform. However, there is still uncertainty about whether the movie will be released in theaters in India or not.
Although there were plans to release the movie in Pakistan as well, the distributor decided not to release the movie after watching the preview copy.
There was also severe criticism regarding the promotion of Dard. Producer Anon Mamun had said that the teaser of the movie would be released at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. There were also plans to release the trailer by holding a big event with Shakib fans. But nothing actually happened.
This has had an impact on the movie business. Although there were some viewers on the first day of release, the picture changed from the second day. From single screens to multiplexes, there was a lack of viewers everywhere.
The movie 'Dard' is a joint production of Bangladesh and India. Apart from Shakib Khan, it also stars India's Sonal Chauhan, Payel Sarkar, Rahul Dev, Rajesh Sharma and Bangladesh's Imtu Ratish, among others.
It remains to be seen how much response 'Dard', released on the OTT platform, can get from the audience.
