Freshmen and Senior Farewell Ceremony at the Department of Political Science of the Islamic University (EB)

The freshmen and senior farewell ceremony of the Department of Political Science of the Islamic University (EB) was held. It was a welcome ceremony for the freshmen of the 2024-25 academic year and a farewell ceremony for the postgraduate students of the 2023-24 academic year. It was held at the university auditorium on Tuesday (January 20) morning. During this, eco-friendly bags were given to the freshmen and honorary mementos to the outgoing students.
The program was presided over by the President of the Department, Associate Professor Obaidul Haque, and the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor Dr. Begum Roksana Mili, was the chief guest, the founding president of the department and Professor of the Department of Public Administration, Dr. Rakiba Yasmin, was the special guest, and the guests were Professors of the Department of Public Administration, Dr. Mohammad Selim and Professor Gias Uddin. In addition, Associate Professor Shirina Khatun, Assistant Professor Firoz Al Mamun and other teachers of the department and more than a hundred freshmen and senior students were present.
In the program, the outgoing students gave emotional speeches recalling their memorable days of four years and gave messages of various experiences and guidance for the freshmen. The freshmen also expressed their feelings and expressed optimism about starting a new chapter of their academic life. A pleasant cultural program was organized in the second part of the program. In this, the outgoing and fresh students enlivened the program by reciting poetry, singing, dancing and performing drama.
In the speech of the chief guest, Professor Dr. Begum Roksana Mili said to the teachers that the first job of a student-friendly teacher is to go to class. The only way to connect students to academic work is through academic classes. One of the reasons why students are getting involved in unwanted activities or movements today is that teachers are not able to keep them in regular classes.
He told the students, "For success, you have to work hard with honesty. You have to work with confidence. Besides, if you want to do something, you have to make a commitment that you have to do it. And you have to always trust in Allah in these things."
