Alumni Association Reunion Held at Savar Government College

A colorful reunion, discussion meeting and cultural program was held for the first time at the initiative of the Alumni Association of the Management Department of Savar Government College. The reunion organized on Friday morning in the college premises turned the entire campus into a joyful gathering with the spontaneous participation of former students.
The program was presided over by Alumni Association President Mohammad Shamimur Rahman. Former MP and prominent politician Dr. Dewan Mohammad Salauddin formally inaugurated the reunion by releasing balloons and pigeons. A unique atmosphere was created in the opening moment with the memories and emotions of college life.
At the beginning of the program, special honors were paid to the family members of the martyrs of the July Movement. At the same time, a minute of silence was observed in memory of all the martyrs. Later, a special prayer was held seeking forgiveness for the soul of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, which created an emotional atmosphere at the program.
In his speech as the chief guest, Dr. Dewan Mohammad Salauddin said, “The path of non-communal consciousness that Begum Khaleda Zia has shown is worthy of imitation and imitation for us. Her political philosophy and patriotism can further unite our society.” He termed this initiative of the Alumni Association as timely and commendable.
The program was hosted by Alumni Association member Nadia Nazrul. In her speech, she warmly welcomed the guests present and highlighted the future plans, goals and various important activities undertaken by the association during the tenure of the current committee.
Association member Obaidul Rahman Obi, former VP Badiur Rahman Badir, BNP leader Golam Mostafa, former principal Ilias Hossain and Professor Mohammad Badrul Alam of Savar Government College, among other guests, also spoke at the discussion. The speakers said that it is possible to play an important role in the development of the college and society through unity and mutual cooperation of alumni.
After the discussion meeting, the day-long event turned into a joyful gathering with the participation of the alumni members' families. The reunion concluded successfully and joyfully with various sports and enjoyable cultural programs for children and adults.
