BGB conducts vigorous operation at Boda border: Smugglers arrested along with two Indian cows

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has conducted two separate special operations in the border area of ​​Boda upazila of Panchagarh and arrested a smuggler along with two Indian cows worth approximately Tk 160,000. These operations are conducted as part of regular surveillance and intelligence activities to prevent smuggling at the border.

BGB sources said that the first operation was conducted in the Lahiripara border area of ​​Boda upazila early on Saturday (January 24). A patrol team of Dhamerghat BOP under Nilphamari Battalion (56 BGB) led by Naib Subedar Md. Nazrul Islam conducted an operation about 250 yards inside Bangladesh from the area adjacent to Border Pillar 770/MP and seized an Indian cow worth approximately Tk 60,000 without an owner.

Later on the same day, in another separate operation, a special patrol team of Barabari BOP under the command of Naib Subedar Md. Azharul Islam conducted an operation at a place called Baradurga in Panchagarh district, about 10 yards inside Bangladesh from border pillar 757/1 S at around 7 am. At that time, a smuggler named Md. Asadul Islam (35) was arrested red-handed along with an Indian cow worth approximately 1 lakh taka.

The commander of 56 BGB told the media through a press release that regular intelligence surveillance and patrolling have been strengthened to prevent smuggling in the border area. In continuation of this, it has been possible to arrest two Indian cows and a smuggler in a separate operation.

He further said that the BGB is on the highest alert to prevent all types of smuggling including cattle and narcotics in the border area and such operations will continue in the future.
