Robbery attempt with toy pistol, youth arrested: Sensation in Tarash, Sirajganj

A young man named Rana Ahmed (22) was caught red-handed by the local people while attempting to rob someone with a toy pistol in the Tarash Upazila Health Complex Gate area of ​​Sirajganj. The incident, which took place at around 4 pm on Monday (October 27), has created a sensation in the area.

According to eyewitnesses, Nazrul Islam has been running a bKash business in the Hospital Gate area for a long time. He was doing business in the shop like every day that day. At that time, a young man named Rana Ahmed raised an object resembling a pistol and demanded money from him. Upon realizing the matter, nearby businessmen and locals quickly reached the spot and arrested the young man and informed the police.

The arrested Rana Ahmed is the son of Abdul Momin of Khokshabari village in Sadar Upazila of Sirajganj.

Tarash Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ziaur Rahman said, “The arrested youth was trying to rob by threatening him using a pistol-shaped gas lighter. Upon receiving the information, the police quickly went to the spot and brought the situation under control.”

He added, “Initial investigations revealed that the youth was slightly mentally unbalanced. He was released on the request of the locals and on humanitarian grounds.”

Locals said that no major incident occurred due to their promptness and intelligence towards the Bikash businessman. The incident has sparked widespread discussion in the area.
