Students of Islamic University (EB) have held a sit-in program on 15 demands, including trial of Sajid's murder and a complete roadmap for the formation of IKSSU. They held this program at the university's administration building premises at 12:30 pm on Saturday (October 18) under the banner of the University Reform Movement.
In the program, the students said that even after a year, no fundamental reforms have been made by the university administration. We have given 15 demands to the administration, but they are not implementing them either. We are suffering from insecurity on campus. The administration has not yet been able to prosecute Sajid's murder. Despite banning outsiders on campus, it has not been able to issue ID cards to students. Students are not getting any services at the medical center. Transportation services are provided by buses without fitness. Various fees still have to be paid through the analog method. The university has a useless website. There is no information there. Each administration member says different things about these. We want the university administration to take effective action as soon as possible. Otherwise, we will go on a strict movement.
Khandaker Abu Sayem, a member of the organization, said, "No demands are being implemented without movement in EB. Although the administration promised to give the constitution of IKSSU by October 15, it has not been able to do so yet. We gave 15 points a long time ago, but not a single demand has been implemented. We want the administration to take visible steps to form IKSSU within the next 7 working days. We do not want to see any excuses.
Student Rahat Abdullah, a member of the organization, said, "We have conducted a survey on the work of the university administration for one year. But the administration has failed there. Students could not trust them. We gave some reasonable demands to the administration a few months ago. But they have not been implemented yet. We want to see a modern university by implementing all the demands. We want the administration to accept our demands very soon and come to the students' side. We will continue the fight until the university is student-friendly."
