Three leaders of Pabna District Jubo Dal and Sujanagar Municipality Krishak Dal were arrested with Yaba on their way back from Cox's Bazar. On Sunday (August 31) at around 9 am, RAB-12, Sirajganj Camp, conducted a raid in front of the Food Village Hotel in Sirajganj on the Dhaka-Pabna highway and arrested them. During this, 1,977 pieces of Yaba were recovered from them. They were sent to jail through the court on Monday (September 1) morning.
The arrested are - Pabna District Jubo Dal Convening Committee member Rashed Rana, Sujanagar Upazila Krishak Dal member secretary Abdul Majid Mondal and Jubo Dal activist Aminul Islam Rony.
RAB said that a search was conducted on a Cox's Bazar-bound bus based on a secret tip-off. During this, Yaba was seized from them and handed over to Salanga Police Station. Salanga Police Station OC Humayun Kabir said, “A drug case has been filed against the arrested. Later, they were sent to jail through the court.”
In this regard, Pabna District Jubo Dal convener Himel Rana said, “If anyone from the organization is involved in anti-party or anti-national activities, strict action will be taken by the organization.” Pabna District Krishak Dal president Abul Hashem said, “We will look into the matter. If the allegations are proven, they will be expelled from the party.”
This RAB operation has started a stir in the political arena. There is widespread discussion and criticism about this at the local level.
