two cases against 93 activists of Awami League in Amtali

Amtali Upazila Awami League president former mayor Matiar Rahman as the main accused named 93 people including seven UP chairman and 350 other unknown accused 443 people have been filed against the same incident two cases. Upazila Chhatra Dal convenor Soeb Islam Helal named 55 people and Municipal Youth Dal president Zakir Hwaladar named 38 people in this case on Friday night (August 23) in the vandalism of the party office of BNP. It is alleged that in both the cases UP Chairman who is not involved in the vandalism of BNP party office and innocent people have been implicated in the case to harass innocent people.
According to the details of the case, on August 5, around 1:15 AM, Amtali Upazila Awami League President, former Municipal Mayor Matiar Rahman and General Secretary GM Osmani Hasan led by 450 Awami League, Chhatra League and Volunteer League activists vandalized the party office of Amtali Upazila BNP. At that time they (Awami League activists) destroyed the office furniture. In this incident, on Friday night Amtali Upazila Chhatra Dal convenor Soeb Islam Helal and Zakir Hawladar filed two separate cases as plaintiffs in the same incident. Upazila Awami League President former Municipal Mayor Matiar Rahman, General Secretary GM Osmani Hasan, former Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Municipal Awami League President Md Mojibur Rahman, Upazila Awami League Vice President former Municipal Mayor Nazmul Ahsan Nannu, former Upazila Parishad Chairman Moazzem Hossain Khan, Gulishakhali UP Former Chairman Adv. Nurul Islam, Gulishakhali UP Chairman Adv. Monirul Islam Moni, Atarogachia UP Chairman Md. Rafiqul Islam Ripon, Kukua UP Chairman Md. Borhan Uddin Masum Talukdar, Haldia UP Chairman Asaduzzaman Mintu Mallick, Chawra UP Chairman Akhtaruzzaman Badal Khan, Amtali Sadar UP Chairman Md. Zahidul Islam Mithu Mridha, Adpangasia UP is the only woman chairman. Soheli Parveen Mala and 93 activists of Chhatra League, Jubo League, Swachhasebak League were mentioned and 350 people were identified as unknown accused and 443 people were accused.
Sohel Rana, the defendant in the case, said, "I don't know the BNP office vandalism, but I have been made a defendant in the case." He demanded that the harassment case be stopped soon.
Atarogachia UP Chairman Rafiqul Islam Ripon said, I was in Patuakhali house three days before the incident. But I have been involved in unnecessary cases. I demand immediate relief from this case.
Kukua Union Parishad Chairman Md. Borhan Uddin Masum Masum Talukdar said, "I am not involved in vandalizing BNP office but I have been accused in the case of political revenge." He demanded immediate relief from this harassment case.
Upazila Chhatra Dal convenor Soeb Islam Helal and Municipal Youth Dal president Zakir Howladar said that a case has been filed regarding the vandalism of BNP office.
Amtali Upazila BNP Member Secretary Tuhin Mridha said that under the leadership of Upazila Awami League President, former Municipal Mayor Matiar Rahman and General Secretary GM Osmani Hasan, more than 450 activists of Awami League, Chhatra League, Volunteer League and Sramik League vandalized the party office of BNP and looted the office belongings. Two cases have been filed in this incident.
Amtali Upazila Awami League General Secretary GM Osmani Hasan said that two separate cases have been filed in the same incident. This proves that the case is false. He also said that this case has been filed to unnecessarily harass the activists.
Amtali Upazila Awami League president, former municipal mayor Matiar Rahman said that cases have been filed against Awami League leaders and activists for harassment. We did not vandalize that office. On the contrary, BNP activists have taken over the Awami League office.
OC of Amtali police station Kazi Sakhawat Hossain Tapu said that in the same incident, 93 Awami League, Chhatra League, Swachha Sevak League leaders and activists have been named and 350 unidentified defendants have been named in two cases. Attempts to arrest the accused have continued.
