During the anti-discrimination student movement, a child was shot by miscreants and fell on the ground. At this time, the eager crowd played the role of spectators. But a policeman took the child to the hospital with his chest.
On Friday (August 02), the clash lasted for about four hours in Sylhet's Akhalia. At this time this incident happened. Police fired tearshells and sound grenades during the clash. About a hundred people were injured.
It is known that Shafiq Ali, son of Amir Ali of Akhalia Baragul area, suddenly fell on the ground during the clash. It was not seen who fired the shots. At that time, no one came forward, but the police took the child to the hospital. The child was first taken to Mount Edora Hospital, then Sylhet Osmani Medical Hospital.
Currently, the child is under treatment in that hospital. However, soon after evening, rumors spread that the boy had died.
Meanwhile, according to Osmani Hospital sources, the child is healthy and he is out of danger at present.
In this regard, Sylhet Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner and Additional DIG Azbahar Ali Sheikh said that 5 policemen were injured in the Akhalia incident. Still, a child was injured and immediately taken to the hospital by the police. This humanity is always there in the police.
