Youth Leadership Training Held in Durgapur

A day-long training on Youth Leadership was held in Durgapur, Netrokona, under the initiative of the South and Central Bangladesh Child Development Project. The training was organized at the Baromari Compassion Auditorium on Friday (November 21).
The training was inaugurated by the project's social worker Dipan Diwara with the financial support of Compassion International Bangladesh. Durgapur Upazila Representative of Daily Jugantor and Channel Twenty One, Tobarak Hossain Khokon, was present as the trainer. In addition, Child Coordinator Alo Mri, Social Development Worker Panchali Shrang, Sabuj Dalbat, Nayan Rangsa, etc. were also present at the program.
Chief social worker Dipan Diwara said, “We work to improve the overall quality of life of sponsored children. We have been regularly carrying out various activities including supporting their studies, coaching support, providing shoes and umbrellas to come to school during the monsoon, and distributing educational materials. Currently, we have 280 sponsored students in our Compassion. Entertainment classes, subject-based training, awareness seminars for parents are conducted for them every year. These activities will be expanded further in the future.”
Trainer Tobarak Hossain Khokon said, “A child’s sense of leadership is very important in building a society. Today’s children will lead the country in the future. Therefore, it is important to instill in children leadership skills, sense of responsibility, values, family role, and duty to society.”
He also said that during the training, students are given detailed instructions on hands-on leadership skills, future planning, distribution of responsibilities, roles of educational institutions and families, etc.
