BNP leaders and activists will not be able to show their faces if challenged: Sarjis Alam

Sarjis Alam, the chief organizer of the National Citizens Party (NCP) for the northern region, has accused BNP leaders and activists of extortion and illegal activities in his area of Panchagarh. He warned that if the challenge of proving these allegations is thrown before him, the BNP leaders will not even be able to show their faces. He made this comment in a post on his verified Facebook account on Monday (September 8).
In the post, Sarjis Alam mentioned that some BNP leaders and activists in Tentulia upazila are regularly involved in extortion. The common people are fed up with this. He said that initially he only warned, but now if proof has to be presented, it will not be limited to Tentulia only, but the whole of Bangladesh will see it. He also warned that then there will be no place to hide their faces.
He also alleged that he has specific information and evidence of these activities, starting from Banglabandha Land Port, extortion on stone trucks, illegal dredging machines in the dark of night, looting in the name of tendering, extortion of money from various projects and outside businessmen.
In the post, Sarjis Alam also said that he has all this information about who is doing what to whom, who is the right hand man, who is the left hand man, whose family members are involved in what work. In his words, “The days of the big voice of the mother of thieves are over. The mask of being a leader dressed as a saint will be removed. It is just a matter of time.”
