Kubi Chhatra League protested the attack on the mass resignation agitators
Chhatra League has attacked the protesting students in various universities and educational institutions of the country, including Comilla University, based on the quota movement. In protest against this, the Chhatra League leaders and activists of Comilla University are resigning en masse.
From Monday (July 15) evening to Tuesday (July 16) morning, more than 50 leaders and activists have resigned by posting on Facebook. Apart from this, the students of various departments have announced to sever all departmental ties with those involved in the attack.
According to university sources, on Monday night, the coordinator of Comilla University's quota movement, Farhad Kausar, was beaten up by Chhatra League leaders and workers. Besides, BCL leaders and activists attacked the quota activists in various educational institutions of the country including Dhaka University, Jahangirnagar University and Chittagong University.
In protest of this, the students of different batches of Nawab Faizunnecha Chaudhurani Hall, Sheikh Hasina Hall, Shaheed Dhirendra Nath Dutta Hall and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall of Comilla University have announced to withdraw from Chhatra League. Besides, the former leaders and activists of BCL also criticized Monday's attack.
The legal secretary of Shahid Dhirendra Nath Dutta Hall, who resigned, posted on social media and said, 'Student politics was my favorite place, a place of love. I have no involvement with BCL from today. Nobody will call me. Datta is not one's father'
Organizational Secretary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall. Mahbubur Rahman said, 'The world is not everything, there is something called the hereafter. May my name not be in the organization where everyone says Alhamdulillah when someone dies.'
Nusrat Survi, the organizing secretary of Nawab Faizunnecha Chaudhurani Hall, resigned from Chhatra League and posted, 'I am ashamed that I was associated with such an organization.'
Rabiul Hossain, organizational secretary of the Faculty of Social Sciences, said, "I do not want to bear the identity of the organization that is abused by the common people of the country." From today I have no relation with this organization.
Tanzina Akhter, who recently resigned from the Chhatra League and a member of the batch of 2021-22, said, "All the girl Chhatra League workers of the 16th batch of Nawab Faizunnecha Chaudhurani Hall, including me, have resigned from the Chhatra League. From today we will not go to any program of Chhatra League.
Apart from the students, the teachers of the university are also on social media to protest against Monday's attack.
