Due to the lack of water drainage system, some families of Digha Chaulabaria village of Kaiba Union of Sharsha Upazila of Jessore have been spending day and night in a state of waterlogging for 15 days. Panibandhi expressed their anger that no one from the administration, including public representatives, came to their side.

It is known that even though new houses are built in this area, there is no way for rain water to go out due to no drainage system. Men and women of the area are suffering from water-borne diseases due to waterlogging. There is a crisis of clean food and water. The helpless people who are stuck in water have to live in knee deep water.

Humayan Kabir Miraj, a resident of the area, said that the water has almost reached the balcony of the house. I can't cook because the stove is under water now. Even though the water has been blocked for many days, the administration including the public representatives have not taken any necessary measures.

Another person named Shahidul Islam said that even if we can eat two meals, we are in great danger with our cows and goats. There is no grass to cover the fields. I buy some grass at an extra price and feed the cows and goats. No one is taking our news, and sleep is prohibited due to the fear of snakes.

Abdul Quader, a resident of the area, said that many new houses have been built in this neighborhood in the last few years. Roads have been constructed for the movement of people but no drainage system has been created to drain the water. As a result, this area becomes waterlogged with little rain.

Kaiba UP Chairman Altab Hossain said, I visited the area this Saturday morning after hearing about it. I will inform the upazila executive officer sir.

Sharsha upazila executive officer Kazi Najib Hasan said, "I was not aware of the water ban issue." Necessary measures including water drainage will be taken after investigation.
