Two Russian citizens intoxicated in Rooppur brawl: One dies, another in ICU

A brawl broke out between two Russian citizens intoxicated in Green City, a residential area of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Ishwardi, Pabna. At one stage of the brawl, a Russian official died after falling seriously ill, while the other injured person was admitted to the hospital's intensive care unit (ICU) in critical condition.
The unfortunate incident took place on Monday (August 3) morning in room 51 on the fifth floor of building 6 of Green City.
According to police sources, the deceased has been identified as Kudrin Sergey (56). He is a Russian citizen and was working as an ultrasonic testing inspector at Trest Rossem, the contractor of the Rooppur power project. He lived in room 51 of the building. On the other hand, the name and identity of another Russian citizen who was injured and undergoing treatment in the ICU could not be immediately obtained, but it is known that he also worked in the same institution.
Ishwardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Asadur Rahman, quoting locals, said that after excessive drinking inside the room, a heated argument and scuffle broke out between two Russian workers. Kudrin Sergey fell seriously ill and was being taken to Pabna SRT Hospital, but he died on the way in an ambulance.
He also said that the condition of another Russian citizen injured in the scuffle is also very critical and he is being treated in the ICU of that hospital. Law enforcement is working to uncover the exact cause of the incident, and the process of sending the body for autopsy is underway after the body is examined.
