The final decision on allotment of rooms of five departments including fine arts is of EB administration

In view of the ongoing movement regarding the allotted rooms in the Islamic University (EB), the administration has taken the final decision to distribute the classrooms of 5 departments in Rabindra-Nazrul Kala Bhavan. On Tuesday (November 5) at 11:30 in the presence of the faculty dean, this decision of room distribution was taken after discussion with the department presidents. Later, there was an exchange of views with the Vice-Chancellor and the Deans and Presidents. Besides, from next Saturday, each department will be able to start class-exams in their allotted classrooms, confirmed a source of the exchange meeting.
According to sources, it has been decided to allocate rooms for Arabic language and literature and folklore studies department on the third floor of the building, fine arts and history of Islam on the fourth floor and development studies and dean's office on the fifth floor.
Student advisor professor Dr. Obaidul Islam said, 'We have sat with the presidents of all the concerned departments to solve the problem. A decision has been taken for an amicable resolution of the matter Some departments have to give a little discount. For now this decision has been accepted by all departments.
Dean of the Faculty of Arts Professor Dr. Emtaz Hossain said, ‘We have all reached a peaceful consensus. The departments will start shifting to their respective rooms in the next one-two days.’
It is to be noted that despite the allocation of rooms by the administration, the students of the fine arts department held a sit-in program last Sunday and Monday without getting the opportunity to use them. Later they went on hunger strike from 3 pm and did a hunger strike program at 4 pm.
