The OC of Hatibandha Police Station has to pay Tk 1,000 per cow. The northern bordering district is Lalmonirhat, and the bordering upazila of this district is called Hatibandha. A few unions are located along the border on the eastern side of Hatibandha Upazila. Thangjhara, Barkhata, Singimari, Tongbhanga, Gotamari and Velaguri Union areas are bordered by India. And through these borders Indian cattle and other smuggled goods are constantly crossing at night.
