According to the latest information, the cyclone was located 595 km south-southeast of Payra sea port. Cyclone 'Dana' has moved a little closer to Payra sea port.
This information was given in the special circular No. 5 of the cyclone given by Meteorologist Mohammad Abdur Rahman Khan of Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Wednesday (October 23) at noon.
According to the Meteorological Office, cyclone 'Dana', which is located in East Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas, is moving further west-northwestward and concentrated in the same area. It was located 665 km south-southwest from Chittagong sea port, 600 km south-southwest from Cox's Bazar sea port, 640 km south-southeast from Mongla sea port and 595 km south-southeast from Payra sea port at 12 noon today. It may move further west-northwestward and intensify.
Maximum sustained wind speed is 62 km/h within 54 km of the cyclone center, increasing to 88 km/h in gusty form. The sea is very rough in the vicinity of the cyclone center.
As a result, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra sea ports have been asked to show local warning signal number 3. Fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay of Bengal and deep sea have been asked to move to safe shelter as soon as possible.
