Ireland has been disoriented by Rashid Khan's whirlwind. The leg-spinner became the hero of Afghanistan's big win by taking 6 wickets for just 34 runs in 7.4 overs. Chasing a target of 300 runs with his brilliant bowling, Ireland was bundled out for 207 runs. As a result, Afghanistan won by 92 runs.
The second ODI of the series was limited to 47 overs due to rain. Batting first, Afghanistan scored 299 runs for 8 wickets. Ibrahim Zadran scored the highest 84 runs, Sediqullah Atal added 45 runs. Mark Adair and Jay Mundra took two wickets each for Ireland.
Ireland collapsed despite a good start
Chasing a target of 300 runs, Ireland made a good start. Their score was 96 runs for 1 wicket in 14.1 overs. However, Rashid Khan returned to the match soon after.
The Irish lost wickets quickly under his spin. They were eventually bowled out for 207 in 33.4 overs. Cade Carmichael scored the highest score of 62.
