Midfield star Hamza Chowdhury will not play for the Bangladesh national team in the September window. The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) officially announced this information today (Tuesday).
National team manager Amer Khan said, “Hamza suffered some pain in his leg in the last match. In addition, there is a Leicester City match on September 13. Considering the club’s schedule and health, he will not play in Nepal in September. His agent has informed us about this.”
BFF President Tabith Awal also confirmed the matter. Although it is necessary to reach Kathmandu by September 4 according to the FIFA window, the federation was somewhat flexible considering the interests of the club and agent.
Hamza was forced to leave the field due to a leg injury despite a 2-0 win over Birmingham City in the English League Championship last Friday. After limping for some time after the clash, he was substituted.
The federation hopes that Hamza will be able to participate in future big matches in good health, although his absence from the Nepal tour is being seen as a setback for the national team.
