South Africa's new batting sensation Matthew Britzke has set a world record on his debut. After playing an innings of 150 runs against New Zealand, he also performed brilliantly in the second ODI against Pakistan.
Britzke played an impeccable innings of 83 runs in the second ODI against Pakistan in Karachi on Wednesday (February 12). The 84-ball innings included 10 fours and 1 six. Through this innings, he scored 233 runs in his first two ODIs, which no batter had been able to do before.
Earlier, the record of scoring the highest number of 195 runs in the first two ODIs was held by Caribbean legend Desmond Haynes. Britzke created new history by breaking that record. Not only that, he also surpassed Haynes in the highest innings on debut.
In this match, South Africa scored 352 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. In reply, Pakistan reached the target for the loss of 4 wickets in 49 overs. This was Pakistan's biggest win by a run chase in ODI cricket.
