Brazil started their journey in the South American U-20 Championship by conceding 6 goals to Argentina. Later, they also lost in the group stage match against Colombia. However, in the final round, Brazil seemed to have shown themselves in a different form. The Brazilian youth team has won three consecutive matches with great skill and is currently at the top of the final round.
Today, Brazil defeated Paraguay 3-1. At the same time, Argentina also confirmed their victory by defeating Colombia 1-0. With this victory, Brazil and Argentina have secured their place in the U-20 World Cup, which will be held in Chile in September.
After three matches, Brazil and Argentina are tied on 9 points, but Brazil is ahead on goal difference. Initially, Colombia, considered one of the title contenders, lost to Brazil and Argentina in the final round.
Currently, the two arch-rivals Brazil and Argentina are facing off in the title race. On Friday morning, these two teams will face off in a crucial final match, where the fate of the title will probably be decided.
Although Brazil was a bit behind in attack and possession against Paraguay in today's match, they succeeded in taking advantage of the few chances they created. Gustavo Prado gave Brazil the lead in the 15th minute. Ryan doubled the lead in the 17th minute. Although Paraguay equalized one goal, Alisson Santana scored in the 78th minute to secure Brazil's victory.
On the other hand, Colombia created several chances against Argentina, but failed to capitalize on them. Ian Subiabre scored the only goal in the 86th minute to secure Argentina's victory.
