Argentine superstar Lionel Messi is once again at the center of controversy. A suggestive behavior he made against Mexican club America in a match for Inter Miami has sparked criticism.
Inter Miami won 3-2 on penalty kicks in the pre-season match. But during the match, when the Mexican club's fans started booing Messi, he raised three fingers in response. In this, he was referring to Argentina's three-time World Cup victory.
When a video of Messi's behavior went viral on social media, a storm of criticism erupted. Former Mexican footballer Adolfo Bautista expressed his anger and said,
"I admire you as a player. But making fun of my country shows your lack of professionalism and education.’
Messi’s Inter Miami will face Panamanian club Sporting San Miguelito in their next match.
