A leader of the Chhatra Dal has been temporarily expelled from the party on charges of attacking and arson and extortion at the opponent's house in Lakshmipur. The person named Kauchar Manik was a member of Chandraganj Union Chhatra Dal.
The matter was informed in a circular signed by Akbar Hossain, secretary of the District Chhatra Dal, on Wednesday night. It is said that Kausar has been temporarily expelled from the party based on specific allegations of violation of party instructions and disorderly activities in the current situation. Kaushar was expelled under the direction of district student party president Hasan Mahmud Ibrahim and general secretary Mamun.
However, several sources of the district student body said that Manik has been accused of setting fire to the houses of a few people including a school teacher in Chandraganj of Sadar Upazila and collecting extortion. For these reasons, he was immediately expelled from the party.
When asked about this, Abdullah Al Mamun, General Secretary of the District Chhatra Dal, said that everyone has been warned by the Central Chhatra Dal to control the ongoing situation. But Kaushar was temporarily expelled for violating party guidelines. He requested everyone to follow the instructions of the party in the ongoing situation.
