EB Chhatra Dal holds welcome procession on the occasion of Tarique Rahman's arrival

The Islamic University (EB) branch of Chhatra Dal has held a welcome procession and rally on the occasion of the arrival of Tarique Rahman, the acting chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). The procession started from the university's faculty building premises at 2 pm on Monday (December 22). Later, the procession circled various roads on the campus and reached the Chhatra Dal tent to join the rally.
Leaders and activists in the procession were seen raising various slogans including 'Mother Earth is calling, Tarique Rahman is coming'; '25th is a happy day for Chhatra Dal all day long'; '25th is a happy day for Bangladesh all day long'; 'Nationalist Chhatra Dal, zindabad zindabad'; 'Tareq Rahman is coming, Bangladesh is laughing'; 'Tareq Rahman will come in the guise of a hero, he will return to Bangladesh'; 'Tareq Rahman's arrival, welcome'.
The procession was led by the convener of the branch Chhatra Dal, Shahed Ahmed. Present at the time were Professor Dr. Tozammel Hossain, president of the pro-BNP teachers' organization UTAB EB branch, Professor Rafiqul Islam, general secretary of EB Zia Parishad, Masud Rumi Mithun, member secretary of Chhatra Dal, former general secretary Rashedul Islam, senior joint convener Anwar Parvez, and more than a hundred leaders and activists from different levels.
Convener Shahed Ahmed said at the rally, "The elections in Bangladesh will be held on February 12, God willing. No conspiracy will be able to sabotage this election. No conspiracy will succeed in Bangladesh, whether it is in Delhi or Pindi. After the announcement of the election schedule, some people's faces have turned black. We deeply sympathize with those who are involved in these conspiracies. There will be no benefit in blackening their faces and making excuses."
He further said, "On December 25, millions of people from Bangladesh will gather in Dhaka. Our leader Mr. Tarique Rahman will return to the country and lead the restoration of democracy. We have been victims of injustice, torture and oppression for the last 17 years. More than 5,000 of our leaders and activists have been murdered and disappeared, 150,000 cases have been filed, and 6 million have been accused. Yet we have remained on the streets. Tarique Rahman has led us from London. He is our organizational guardian."
