Hasnat Abdullah warns of burning ‘Delhi’s masnad’

National Citizens Party (NCP) South chief organizer Hasnat Abdullah said at the protest rally and mass resistance rally organized by Inqilab Manch at Shahbagh intersection in Dhaka on Saturday, “Delhi’s masnad will not be allowed to enter Bangladesh through any individual, organization or intellectual.”

Hasnat Abdullah said, “The bullets did not just go through Osman Hadi’s head, they went through the conscience of every person in the country. Those who have worked for the banned Awami League for the past 17 years are now becoming active in different identities—talk show intellectuals, theater workers or cultural workers.”

He also said, “Osman Hadi wanted to lead the country on the path of justice. But the political parties have gone bankrupt for their own interests. Now, they are having an affair with the Awami League.” Hasnat warned, “There will be no place for fascists in Bangladesh—no matter what name they may bear. Those who are trying to unite again in the name of Jatiya Party in Gulshan, at the time of Osman Hadi Bhai’s blood, will not be given even an inch of space.”

The NCP leader also said, “No matter what your sect, we have to remain united in one place. Political parties have become bankrupt for their own interests. We know who wants to come to power by contacting India. Power will be determined by the votes of the people of the country, not from across the border or from other countries.”

Hasnat Abdullah’s comments have created new tension in domestic politics. It is clear from his statement that the attack on Osman Hadi is causing widespread reactions in the country’s political and social media and creating strong resistance among civil movements.
