Law Advisor Professor Dr. Asif Nazrul said that in the current situation, none of the advisors need a safe exit. However, the entire nation needs a safe exit from the terrible and sick state structure.
He said these things at the national consultation meeting on the ‘National Human Rights Commission Ordinance-2025’ held at a hotel in the capital on Saturday (October 11).
Dr. Asif Nazrul said, “Currently, various discussions are going on about ‘safe exit’. I want to make it clear—as advisors, none of us need a safe exit. But this state machine, where extrajudicial killings take place, banks are looted and ordinary people’s deposits disappear—the nation needs a safe exit from there.”
He further said, “We, the advisors, know very well that none of us need a safe exit. But if we do not get rid of the misrule, extrajudicial killings and financial loot that we have witnessed for the last 55 years, the state will face destruction. Therefore, a safe exit is needed from this sick state structure.”
Also present at the meeting were Adilur Rahman Khan, Advisor to the Ministry of Housing, Public Works and Industries, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change and Water Resources, Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman, Supreme Court Bar President Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon and representatives of various international organizations.
Many present saw Asif Nazrul’s statement as an important opinion in the context of the country’s ongoing political situation and administrative reforms.
