The National Vitamin 'A Plus' Campaign-2026 has started across the country. Under this program, which will be conducted from 8 am to 4 pm on Sunday, the Health Department has set a target of feeding free Vitamin 'A' capsules to about 23.5 million children aged 6 months to 59 months.

Under this program, which is being conducted under the initiative of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and in collaboration with UNICEF, children aged 6 to 11 months will be given blue colored high-dose Vitamin 'A' capsules and children aged 12 to 59 months will be given red colored high-dose Vitamin 'A' capsules. Capsules will be distributed at about 120,000 permanent centers across the country as well as at about 500 temporary centers including bus terminals, railway stations and ferry piers.

The Health Department said that if a child is unable to receive the capsules on the scheduled day, they can be received from the concerned Upazila Health Complex the next day. In addition, a special campaign will be conducted in 58 remote upazilas of 12 districts of the country for four more days.

The Health Department has urged parents to bring their children to the nearest center at the scheduled time. This program has been running for a long time to reduce health risks related to malnutrition, night blindness, and vitamin A deficiency in children and was relaunched in 2026.
