Dhaka sends 13-point diplomatic message to Delhi to stop push-ins at the border

The Bangladesh government has already sent 13 diplomatic letters to Delhi demanding an end to forced infiltration or 'push-ins' from India into Bangladesh. This information was given by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaid Islam.
He made this information while responding to questions from journalists at the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed building of Saltha Press Club in Faridpur on Friday (June 12).
The State Minister said that the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) is taking a tough stance to deal with the border situation and the push-ins that are being attempted from India are being thwarted. He said that the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry has already sent 13 diplomatic letters to Delhi to stop such activities.
Shama Obaid Islam said that there are internationally recognized policies and diplomatic procedures to send back illegal citizens of any country. If any Bangladeshi is staying in India illegally, they should be sent back following that procedure. Similarly, if any illegal Indian nationals are staying in Bangladesh, they will also be sent back in a systematic manner.
He expressed hope that the Indian government will refrain from activities like push-ins or irregular returns in the dark of night and that the issue can be resolved only through diplomatic talks.
He also said at the event that at present, along with the mainstream media, social media is also playing an important role in the flow of information. However, the tendency to spread misleading and false information through the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) and technology is worrying.
Stressing the importance of fact-checking in publishing news, the State Minister said that true and accurate information should be conveyed to the public through responsible journalism. He also urged not to disseminate any information without verification.
