Newly appointed Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will address the nation this Wednesday evening, according to a statement issued by the Department of Information. The speech is scheduled to be broadcast at 6:30 PM on Bangladesh Television (BTV) as well as on all private television channels across the country.
Following a landslide victory in the 13th National Parliamentary Election, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman Tarique Rahman took oath on Tuesday afternoon, leading a 50-member cabinet. The new cabinet includes 25 full ministers and 24 state ministers.
Earlier in the day, the first meeting of the newly formed cabinet is set to take place at the Bangladesh Secretariat around 3:00 PM. After the meeting, Prime Minister Rahman will hold an exchange meeting with secretaries. According to relevant sources, discussions are expected to focus on the government’s priority agenda and initial policy directions.
Political observers believe that this first national address by the Prime Minister will outline the new government’s vision, key objectives, and roadmap for the coming days.
