BNP nominated candidate for Chittagong-13 (Anowara and Karnaphuli) constituency Sarwar Jamal Nizam has called for ban on extortion till February 12. He made this call while inaugurating an election office at Chaturi Chaumuhani Bazar in Anwara Upazila on Saturday (February 6) night. A 55-second video has gone viral on social media, which has sparked heated discussions in the local political arena.
In the video, Sarwar Jamal Nizam said, "Chaturi is an important economic area of Anwara. The economic dynamics of the entire area depends on the business and trade here and the income of the people. Currently, extortion, anarchy and terrorism are going on in the area. In this situation, I request with folded hands, do not extort till this 12th."
He further warned that no one will be spared if they try to smear BNP. Despite multiple attempts to contact Sarwar Jamal Nizam by phone for his comment, he did not answer the phone.
