The funeral of Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi, a frontline fighter of the July Uprising and spokesperson of the Inqilab Mancha, was held at the South Plaza of the National Parliament House in the tearful presence of lakhs of people. People from different parts of the country participated in this funeral held with state honors. After the funeral, preparations were made for his burial.
In this moment of mourning, popular Islamic commentator Maulana Mizanur Rahman Azhari posted an emotional post in memory of Shaheed Hadi. He published this emotional message on his verified Facebook page at around 3:15 pm on Saturday (December 20).
In a Facebook post, Mizanur Rahman Azhari wrote,
“The royal farewell of Martyr Osman Hadi, a symbol of betrayal. He came like a comet. As a strong voice of justice and fairness, he suddenly passed away, spreading the flames of revolution throughout the entire town.”
He also mentioned that a greater honor awaits Martyr Hadi in heaven than the royal farewell that people have witnessed on earth. In Azhari’s words,
“Surely, arrangements are underway to give my brother a royal welcome even greater than this in heaven.”
Mentioning the time of Martyr Hadi’s martyrdom, he wrote,
“He was shot right after Friday prayers, and then martyred the next Friday night! He received prayers mixed with tears from millions of people. Subhanallah! This is an absolute blessing!”
In the last part of the post, Azhari called Martyr Hadi a symbol of the future of Bangladesh. He said,
“Young people like Hadi who are patriotic, anti-hegemonic and have religious values are the future of Bangladesh. The blood of martyrs never goes in vain.”
Expressing his strong conviction, he further wrote,
“InshaAllah, Osman Hadi will live in the love of thousands of freedom-loving people. He will be an inspiration and a beacon of courage from generation to generation.”
It is worth noting that Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi played an important role in the July Uprising and became a symbol of courageous leadership in recent political and social movements. His martyrdom has cast a shadow of mourning across the country.
