17 members of the police took shelter in a food park in the face of miscreants' cannon fire in the capital's ECB premises. On July 18, from 12 noon to 1.30 am, the violent people tried to break the gate several times to rob them.
At first they took shelter in the parking lot, then inside the food park, but as the situation was dire, the policemen escaped by climbing the ladder of the building under construction next to them.
It has been seen in the CCTV footage that 17 members of the police were on duty in the basement of the ECB square in the capital on July 18. One by one everyone started entering the nearby food park in the face of the violence.
When the policemen came to know that the policemen were stationed at the food park, the rioters started gathering at the main gate. He tried to break the gate. Not once or twice, but several times in about two hours they tried to break down the gate.
A police van was inside the food park. It is covered with tarpaulin so that miscreants do not realize that it is a police van. Meanwhile, the policemen took shelter in the parking lot. They stayed there for about an hour. Outside, the perpetrators again broke the gate and tried to enter.
Later, the policemen took shelter in a restaurant inside the food park. They stayed there for another 30 minutes. The policemen asked for the help of the people of the restaurant after seeing the situation. Then everyone was passed one by one through an iron ladder through a narrow alley between an under-construction building and the food park.
The restaurant staff said,
Policemen came and entered our food park. They were here for a long time. But there was no way out. They repeatedly requested us to save their lives. He asked us for old clothes to go out. But we didn't have such old clothes. Wanted to hear their cries, take off our shirts! But there was no such way. Later, when the situation becomes dire, we pass them through the ladder. Then they left safely.
Due to the extensive damage to the food park in this incident, they themselves filed a case as plaintiff.
