The National Assembly elections will be held before February 15, said Chief Advisor's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam. He said that the Chief Advisor will take a decision on any issue related to the referendum, but the elections will be held before the scheduled time.
He made these remarks while talking to reporters after the closing and award distribution of a program organized by the 'Julai Kanya Foundation' at Noakhali University of Science and Technology on Friday (October 31) afternoon.
Shafiqul Alam also said, "Various political parties are expressing their views, we do not see it as a threat. The Chief Advisor will make the best decision."
Regarding women's participation, he said, "Men and women worked shoulder to shoulder on the streets in the fall of dictatorship and the mass uprising. Now women are no longer behind; they are represented in all areas."
The Press Secretary also said that the court will announce the date of Sheikh Hasina's trial on November 13.
