National Citizens Party (NCP) Senior Joint Chief Coordinator Abdul Hannan Masud has claimed that India is planning to occupy our hilly regions. He made these comments while speaking as the chief guest at a view-sharing meeting with the landless in Saiful Market area of Chandi Union, Hatiyar on Sunday (September 28) evening.
Hannan Masud said, "A conspiracy is going on in the hilly regions of Bangladesh. India wants to occupy our hilly regions. They are playing the last trump card. They are destabilizing the hilly regions. They are creating conflict between our Bengalis and the hill people through a fake rape incident."
He further said, "The people of Bangladesh will not give up even an inch of its territory. India will also have to respond. Those who want to snatch our land will be confronted, InshaAllah. We confronted the Pakistanis in 1971, can't we confront the Indians in 25? We can. India will be fed cow dung. Our land is purer than gold, we will not let anyone snatch it away."
The meeting was attended by Headmaster Shamsul Tibrij, the chief coordinator of the Hatia Upazila Coordination Committee of NCP, Joint Coordinator Zakir Hossain, Noakhali District Organizer of the Workers Wing Dr. Abul Hashem, Central Joint Convener of Bagchas Hafizur Rahman, Hatia Upazila Youth Power Representative Yusuf Reza, Nur Alam Ripon and people from different classes and professions.
