The Gaza Health Ministry has reported that four more people have died of acute hunger in Gaza. The deaths occurred in the last 24 hours. As a result, the total number of deaths due to hunger and malnutrition has increased to 201. Women and children are the most affected.
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, the people of the besieged territory are suffering from a severe food crisis and malnutrition. The lack of international aid and the ongoing conflict have further complicated the situation.
Since October 7, 2023, at least 61,330 Palestinians have been killed and 152,359 injured in Israel's continuous attacks on Gaza.
Meanwhile, Israel's Cabinet Committee on Security has approved a plan to occupy Gaza City. They have adopted a five-point policy to end the war. One of these is the formation of an alternative civilian government, not Hamas or the Palestinian Authority.
The Israeli prime minister's office said in a statement that the army would take control of Gaza City, home to millions of Palestinians. However, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's move has drawn widespread criticism within Israel.
Families of Hamas hostages have expressed concern that the plan could put the lives of the hostages at further risk and lead to more civilian Palestinian casualties if it goes ahead.
